2-Day Private Zhangjiajie Tour: Tianmen Mountain, Grand Canyon & Forest Park

Day 1

–

9:00 AM Depart from Zhangjiajie city hotel to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (approx. 35 min drive)

The guide and driver will wait in the hotel lobby for pickup. During the ride, the guide will provide brief educational insights and conversation. (Rainy days offer misty landscapes, while sunny days reveal endless mountain views – each season presents its own unique beauty)

Arrive at the attraction at 9:30 AM and take the Bailong Elevator.

Follow the guide into the attraction, pass (view from the bus) the Ten-Mile Gallery and Shuiraosimen, then walk to take the Bailong Elevator after getting off the bus.

10:00 AM Visit Yuanjiajie for approx. 1.5 hrs

There are twenty to thirty attractions of various sizes distributed throughout, including the Enchanting Terrace, which offers excellent views; the Qiankun Column, a filming location for the Avatar Hallelujah Mountains; and finally, the First Bridge Under Heaven.

12:00 PM | Yangjiajie tour approx. 1 hr

Here are three main check-in spots: Natural Great Wall, One Step to Heaven, and Wulang Gazing at Buddha.

You can take a 1-hour lunch break during the tour, and you may refer to the guide’s recommendations.

2:00 PM Tianzi Mountain tour approx. 1 hr

Here you’ll find attractions like Imperial Brush Peak, Fairy Scattering Flowers, and Son of Heaven Pavilion. After visiting, return the same way to take the cable car.

4:00 PM Golden Whip Stream tour for approx. 2.5 hrs

After getting off the cable car, take an eco-bus to visit the Golden Whip Stream Canyon. The walk through the canyon takes 1.5–2 hrs and is approx. 3.5 km. Take the bus for the return trip.

The tour ends at 6:30 PM, then return to your hotel by vehicle.

Hotel not included. We recommend staying near the Grand Canyon attraction for easy access to explore the next morning.

Day 2

–

Morning Itinerary: 9:00 AM–12:30 PM Visit Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Route B for approx. 3–4 hrs, with time for lunch and rest during this period.

Tour Route:

Ascend the Yuntiandu Glass Bridge, walk high above the canyon with a deep abyss below, and take in the spectacular canyon views. Then, enter the Glass Skywalk, where you can gaze at the entire bridge structure, feeling as if you’re walking on air. Arrive at Rainbow Lake, paddle a boat on its shimmering waters surrounded by green mountains. Afterward, walk or choose another activity to enter the deep canyon – Shense Tanxi · Yilian Youmeng · Momodong, with unique sights accompanying you along the way. Finally, enjoy a free boat ride on Shenquan Lake, gently sailing towards the exit, bringing your journey to a perfect close.

Choose 5 out of 7 activities, broadly divided into zipline and slide versions. Select between thrilling or comfortable experiences, and enjoy different activities with your guide’s explanation.

1. iFly VR: Visitors enter a specially designed gondola, put on 5D glasses, and simulate a “flyover of the Grand Canyon” from a high-altitude perspective, experiencing the majestic beauty of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon in 5–6 minutes.

2. Zipline: Total length 358m, height difference 302m, 6 people can slide together. Speed is adjusted by weight, one-way 25–35 seconds.

3. Yixiantian Slideway: A mountain slideway approximately 600m long, divided into two sections. Wear equipment for descent and control your own speed.

4. Wuwangpo Slide: A mountain slide that requires wearing equipment to go down, suitable for those who do not wish to walk down the mountain, with canyon views along the way

5. Treasure Hunt Elevator: This scenic elevator in the canyon offers a quick descent, reducing the burden of walking. It’s ideal for those with limited physical strength or those who are afraid of slides and zip lines.

6. Sculpture Elevator: Conveniently descend the mountain and enjoy the natural views on both sides of the canyon during operation

7. Caihong Lake cruise: Take a cruise on Caihong Lake to enjoy the scenery, then continue walking or choose other activities upon reaching the opposite shore

Travel by car for approximately 1.5 hours to the Tianmen Mountain attraction cableway station to take the cableway.

2:30 PM–6:00 PM: Visit Tianmen Mountain Attraction Line A, approximately 3–4 hours

Take the world’s longest alpine passenger cableway at Tianmen Mountain and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the 99 winding turns of the mountain road, reaching the summit in about half an hour.

This route includes scenic spots such as the cableway, Yun Ding Buddhist Temple, Glass Skywalk, Tianmen Cave, and Yunmeng Xianding, allowing you to experience the thrilling, magnificent, and ethereal beauty of Tianmen Mountain with every step.

The tour ends at 6:30 PM, then return to your hotel by vehicle.
