In winter, Xiling becomes a full snow playground with skiing, snowboarding, sledding and family-friendly snow activities. Outside the snow season, it’s a great place for easy hikes, wildflowers and panoramic views over the Sichuan hills—a refreshing contrast to the city.

- Morning – Travel from Chengdu
Depart Chengdu around 07:00–08:00. Take a direct tourist bus or private transfer to Xiling Snow Mountain Scenic Area. - Late Morning – Cable car & snow area
Enter the scenic area, ride the sightseeing bus and cable car up to the main snow or meadow area (seasonal). Enjoy viewpoints on the way. - Afternoon – Skiing & free time
Try skiing, snowboarding or family snow games in winter, or short hikes and photo stops in the green season. Have a simple lunch on the mountain. - Late Afternoon – Descend & return
Take the cable car and shuttle bus down, then drive back to Chengdu. Expect to arrive in the evening.

How to Get to Xiling Snow Mountain
- By direct tourist bus: seasonal buses usually depart from Chengdu’s Chadianzi or Xinnanmen Bus Stations to Xiling Snow Mountain / Xiling Town in about 2–3 hours.
- By private car: we can arrange a private transfer from your hotel in Chengdu, which is the most flexible and comfortable option, especially for families and winter travel.
From the entrance area, you’ll take the scenic shuttle bus and cable cars up to the main sightseeing and snow areas.
Travel Tips
- Dress for real winter: in peak snow season, temperatures can drop well below freezing. Wear warm layers, waterproof outerwear, gloves and non‑slip boots.
- Avoid peak crowds: weekends and Chinese public holidays can be busy, with lines for cable cars. If possible, visit on a weekday.
- Altitude & fitness: the elevation is higher than Chengdu, but still comfortable for most travelers. Take it slow if you’re not used to mountain areas.
- Kids & seniors: stick to safer activity zones and watch for icy sections on paths and stairs.

Do I need to be able to ski?
No. There are beginner‑friendly slopes, sledding and simple snow play areas. You can also just enjoy the views and cable cars.
Is Xiling Snow Mountain only worth visiting in winter?
Winter is best for snow, but spring, summer and autumn are pleasant for hiking, wildflowers and mountain views away from city heat.
