What to Expect

Mount Siguniang (Four Girls Mountain) is a renowned mountain range located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, western Sichuan Province, about 200 kilometers from Chengdu. Known as the “Oriental Alps” for its stunning alpine scenery, the range consists of four snow-capped peaks arranged in a line, with the highest peak (Siguniang Main Peak) reaching 6,250 meters above sea level. The scenic area is divided into four main parts: Shuangqiao Valley (most accessible, with well-developed facilities), Changping Valley (best for hiking), Haizi Valley (famous for glacial lakes), and the Main Peak Area (for professional mountaineers). Mount Siguniang offers diverse landscapes – snow-capped peaks, glacial valleys, alpine meadows, forests, and lakes – making it suitable for both casual tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. It’s also home to Tibetan and Qiang communities, offering a chance to experience ethnic minority cultures. With convenient transport from Chengdu (4-5 hours), it’s one of the most popular mountain destinations in Sichuan, best visited from June to November.
